Beautiful Beach Wedding Photos

There are a few things you should know about beach wedding photos wether you are having a beach wedding or posing at the beach before your wedding.

So many couples choose the beach as their wedding setting and there are just as many scenarios for your beach wedding photos as there are different types of couples.

Tips to think about…

  • You can either choose to do the photography yourself (well, not really you, but a friend or relative), or you can hire a professional photography.
  • You can go with either digital photos or use film. Either way, make sure you have plenty of fresh batteries, or tons of film.
  • Find good backgrounds. Use structures at the beach like pavilions, lounge chairs, or cabanas.
  • If you use a pro photographer, make sure that they have great experience working at the beach.
  • Make a checklist ahead of time. The list should include all of the poses you would like to have.
  • Light changes frequently at the beach. To be sure that you have plenty of beach wedding photos to choose from, give yourself lots of time.
  • For the do-it-yourselfers, use the photography Rule of One Thirds. Don’t put the horizon in the center of the photo. Position it in the top or bottom third of the photo. Same goes for vertical interest too. Place the couple or person in the left or right third of the frame for a great look.
  • Take plenty of vertical shots. People forget to turn that camera sideways!
  • Experiment with light. You dont necessarily have to shoot wedding photos with the sun to your back. Shoot photos in shady areas for a softer, less squinty look.
  • When using digital photography, play around with some of your photos on software at home where you can easily change photos to Black and White or add effects.
  • Dont forget to get lots of candid shots (tell your pro photographer to get some too)!

Beach wedding photos can be some of the most beautiful photos you could imagine. These are great even if you are not getting married anywhere near the beach. You can use them to takes photos for your pre-wedding shots, engagement announcements or thank you cards. For a cute added touch, make a beautiful sign and photograph the two of you holding it at the beach.
