Wedding flowers are not scarce in Florida. You can have any look you’d like from exotic to traditional. There is always something blooming in Florida even in the winter.
Thats when the Bougainvillea is in its glory and the colors are magnificent. Think of how beautiful a garden wedding would be with that as a background not to mention all the glorious flowering trees there are.
If You want a tropical look for your flowers, here are some blooms to consider:
- Birds of Paradise
- Heliconias
- Bromeliads
- Hibiscus come in lots of different colors. They only last for one day but dont need water although they are pretty floating in a pool. They look great worn in the hair. The red ones, when crushed, yield a blue dye that stains. The other colors are okay to use.
- Stephanotis are popular wedding flowers for bridal bouquets and have a mild fragrance.
- The Coral Vine is stunning wrapped around a cake. The flowers look like a string of hearts and are sometimes called Chain of Love
- Frangipani blossoms have different colors. The are native to America and the flowers are used for leis in Hawaii.
Magnolia trees are common from Central Florida northward as are Dogwoods Hydrangeas and Azaleas. We also have wonderful Roses in Florida. There really are too many to mention, but whatever you choose for your wedding flowers will be a winner.
